Movie clip of the day!
Zoe Saldana and Mark Ruffalo spent much of their recent on-screen time battling aliens and sentient robots in "Guardians of the Galaxy" (2014) and the "Star Trek" and "Avengers" pictures. In "Infinitely Polar Bear" (2015), the two take a welcome tangent into indie film territory.
Set in 1978, Maggie (Saldana) takes charge of their family's lives when Cam (Ruffalo) repeatedly makes irresponsible mistakes due to his manic depression. This movie sounds like a downer, but its constant upbeat optimism, comedic charm and engaging perfomances by Saldana, Ruffalo, and the two child actors - Imogene Wolodarsky and Ashley Aufderheide - will win you over.
Ruffalo is especially memorable, and I hope "the powers that be" recognize him during award season. Here is the trailer.
